Tapping is like clicking with a mouse. Just tap an app to open it. To select text within an app, tap it and then use the handles to adjust the selection.

Press & Hold

Holding your finger on an object can do one of two things, depending on the app:

Display information about the object, much like hovering the mouse over an object
Display a context menu, much like right-clicking an object

Swipe

Slide your finger across the screen to drag objects, or to scroll the screen.

Swipe from the Right-Hand Edge

Swipe from the right side of the screen to view the Action Centre.

Swipe from Top to Side

Swipe from the top of the screen to the side of the screen to allow you to use two apps side-by-side.

Pinch & Zoom

Some apps, such as maps and photos, support pinching to zoom in and out.

Rotate

Some apps may also allow using two fingers to rotate objects on the screen.
